FORNEY -- Nacogdoches' return to the playoffs was short-lived as the Dragons suffered a 25-15 defeat at the hands of Mansfield Summit on Friday night at City Bank Stadium.

The Dragons (7-4), in the postseason for the first time since 2006, committed four turnovers and didn't find the end zone until late in the fourth quarter in their Class 4A Division II Region II bi-district playoff.

Summit (6-5), which advanced to face Wylie in next week's area round, built a 25-0 lead early in the fourth quarter and benefitted from three Nacogdoches fumbles and one interception.

Nacogdoches, which outgained Summit 321-262 on the night, scored on an 18-yard touchdown pass from James Oglesbee to L.J. Barnes with 5:43 remaining and a 61-yard scoring strike from Oglesbee to Brandon Jones as time expired.

Oglesbee finished 6-of-13 for 143 yards, while starter Bryce Matthews completed 8 of 16 attempts for 50 yards with an interception. Coronado Tolbert rushed for 93 yards on 20 carries.

Braden Nolen passed for 153 yards and two touchdowns to lead Summit. Johnson Ubani had seven receptions for 111 yards and a touchdown, while Jerrell Peterson and Jordan Hester combined for 107 rushing yards on 19 carries.

Summit took a 8-0 lead on an 11-yard run by Hester and a two-point conversion completion from Hester to Kawan Henry with 7:38 remaining in the first quarter. Summit expanded its lead on a second-quarter touchdown pass from Nolen to Ubani, and went up 18-0 on Ryan Rodriguez's 54-yard field goal as time expired in the first half.

After a scoreless third quarter, Nolen connected with Russell Lemelle for a 12-yard touchdown with 8:08 remaining.
