Two national recruiting networks updated their rankings in the last two days and both have a pair of East Texans in their top 100.

Mount Pleasant receiver K.D. Cannon and Liberty-Eylau athlete Davion Hall were ranked among the top 100 players nationally by 247Sports.com and ESPN.com.

247Sports.com updated its Top 247 rankings Wednesday, while ESPN.com updated its ESPN 150 on Thursday.

The 6-foot, 160-pound Cannon was ranked 58th by ESPN.com and 52nd by 247Sports.com. Hall, a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder who plays receiver and safety and is committed to Baylor, was ranked 73rd by ESPN.com and 96th by 247Sports.com.

The Top 247 also included three other East Texans: Gilmer linebacker and Texas A&M pledge Josh Walker (141), Newton athlete Kevin Shorter (174), and Jasper center and Texas pledge Terrell Cuney (244).

Scout.com and Rivals.com have also been impressed by the aforementioned East Texans. Scout.com rates Cannon, Hall, and Walker all as national top 100 players: Hall at No. 19, Cannon at No. 39, and Walker at No. 85. Rivals.com ranks Cannon 52nd overall.

Cannon, who holds 18 offers, caught 104 passes for 1,596 yards and 25 touchdowns in 2012, when Mount Pleasant finished 8-3 with a Class 4A Division II Region II first-round playoff appearance. Hall, who has seven offers, accounted for 655 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns, catching 12 passes for 315 yards and three scores and running 29 times for 340 yards and seven touchdowns for the 5-5 Leopards. From the secondary, he had 75 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and one defensive touchdown. He also returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Cannon, Cuney, Shorter, and Walker were first-team selections to the ETSN.fm Football Super Team in January. Hall was a second-teamer at defensive back.
