One of the two polls used by coaches and fans of Texas high school baseball ranked 11 East Texas teams with Monday's latest edition.

Txhighschoolbaseball.com ranked two East Texas teams in Class 4A's top six, three in Class 3A's top 16, and six in Class 2A's top 25.

Hallsville came in at No. 5 in the 4A rankings, followed by No. 6 Whitehouse. In 3A, District 20-3A-leading Lufkin Hudson was ranked sixth. District mate Carthage, which beat Bridge City 7-3 in Monday's 10-inning non-district match in Newton, was No. 12. Bullard was ranked 16th.

The largest regional contingent came from 2A, which was led by undefeated and top-ranked Hughes Springs. The Mustangs were followed by No. 6 White Oak, No. 10 Elkhart, No. 16 Central Heights, No. 17 Edgewood, and No. 25 Sabine.

The Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association, which typically updates its polls each Thursday once district play begins, had six East Texas teams ranked in four different top 10 polls this past week: No. 5 Hallsville (4A); No. 7 Lufkin Hudson (3A); No. 1 Hughes Springs (2A); and No. 1 Carlisle and No. 3 Big Sandy (1A).

ETSN.fm will publish updated THSBCA poll results as they are released later this week.
