TYLER -- Backup quarterback Braydon Stone scored twice in the first half and helped Tyler Grace Community cruise to a 46-0 win versus Waxahachie Life in a neutral site game Friday at Tyler Bishop Gorman's McCallum Stadium.

Stone filled in for starting quarterback Christopher Wilhelmi. Wilhelmi is working through a leg injury.

The Cougars owned a 39-0 lead at halftime and scored once more in the second half on a 24-yard run from Josh Spitzer. Like Stone, Spitzer closed his night with two touchdowns.

It was sophomore back Uchenna Uduma that led the team in total rushing yardage, however. He got 13 carries and used those for 114 yards and a 14-yard touchdown.

Spitzer finished second on the chart with 100 yards on 11 touches.

Receiver Brady Newman should be a no-brainer choice for winning coach Mike Maddox for special teams player of the week. He recovered a bad snap on a Life (0-1) punt attempt to set up Spitzer for the first score of the game and then scored on a six-yard punt return following another bad Life snap.

Grace (1-0) should get a tougher challenge next Friday when it travels to Canton.
