Tyler Grace Explodes in First Half En Route to 57-6 Rout of Kemp
TYLER -- Kade Clayton and Garrett Newman put on a show in a first half that featured six Tyler Grace touchdowns in a 57-6 Cougars victory Friday at Clyde-Perkins Stadium.
Clayton, last week's ETSN.fm + Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week, scored three first-half touchdowns and Newman added two 42-yard touchdown runs before halftime to carry the Cougars to a 3-0 start on the season.
Clayton scored on an 88-yard pass from Blake White and added touchdown runs of 68 and 6 yards to help the Cougars take a 43-6 lead at the break.
White added a 35-yard touchdown pass to Lin Gillham and Adam Graham scored on a 36-yard run to round out Grace's scoring.
The Cougars averaged 14.3 yards per carry on the night, in which they finished with 272 yards rushing on 19 attempts.
