NACOGDOCHES — The Tyler Lee Red Raiders got into the win column for the first time in the 2018 season with a 49-39 victory over Nacogdoches Friday night at Dragon Stadium.

A week after allowing 495 rushing yards to rival John Tyler in a 65-21 setback, Lee rushed for 444 yards on 60 carries against Nacogdoches.

Jordan Printers had 188 yards, followed by Jamarion Miller’s 143 yards and Jamar Arceneaux’s 111 yards. Printers, Miller and Arceneaux all scored two touchdowns apiece.

Nacogdoches struck first with a 6-yard run by Damorian Thacker.

Lee tied the game with a 95-yard touchdown return by Deonte Allen after the Red Raiders blocked a field goal attempt by Nacogdoches.

A 27-yard pass from Smith to Karlus Flanagan put the Dragons back in front early in the second quarter. The Red Raiders tied the game with a 4-yard touchdown run by Printers and then took the lead on a 1-yard run by Arceneaux.

Smith found Nazavien Floyd for a 30-yard scoring strike, and Chris Campos-Gonzalez connected on a 50-yard field goal to give Nacogdoches a 24-22 halftime lead.

The Red Raiders pulled away in the third quarter. Arceneaux and Printers both scored from 19 yards out, and Miller found the end zone from 62 yards away to push the score to 42-24.

Another touchdown run by Miller — a 4-yard carry — put the score at 49-24 with 10:26 remaining. The Dragons answered just 35 seconds later with a 19-yard pass from Smith to Christin Diaz.

Smith was 17-for-39 for 302 yards and four touchdowns — two to Floyd and one each to Flanagan and Diaz. The trio combined for 14 grabs for 275 yards.
