TYLER -- Jamar Arceneaux ran for 200 yards and four touchdowns as Robert E. Lee picked up a 42-31 win over Rockwall-Heath in the District 11-6A opener Friday night at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.

The Red Raiders rushed for 408 yards as a team and also had 144 yards through the air.

Arceneaux gave Robert E. Lee a 7-0 lead less than two minutes into the contest with a 10-yard scoring run.

Rockwall-Heath battled back and reeled off 17 consecutive points to end the first quarter. Bijan Nichols nailed a 46-yard field goal. Taven Paxton displayed his big-play ability with a 68-yard touchdown pass to Chris Byers and a 55 touchdown run of his own.

Paxton ran for 184 yards and three scores on 13 carries, and he threw for 64 yards and the touchdown.

Arceneaux’s second touchdown came on a 60-yard scamper early in the second quarter.

Paxton scored from 4 yards out, but less than a minute later, Lee fired back with a 64-yard pass from Mark Patton to Te’vion Massey. Arceneaux found paydirt for the third time with a 5-yard run to give the Red Raiders a 28-24 halftime lead.

Jordan Printers, who rushed for 78 yards, scored on a 5-yard run in the third quarter to push the Robert E. Lee lead to double digits.

Paxton busted loose for a 99-yard touchdown in the final seconds of the fourth quarter, but Arceneaux put the game away on the first play of the fourth quarter with a 21-yard touchdown run.

Patton was 10-for-13 for 144 yards and a touchdown for the Red Raiders (2-3, 1-0). Jamarion Miller added 119 yards on the ground.
