BRYAN -- Lufkin rebounded from its District 14-5A loss to The Woodlands with a dominating 47-7 win over Bryan on Friday night behind the arm of quarterback Tyler Stubblefield.

Stubblefield threw for 264 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to JaBryce Taylor, who finished with six catches for 154 yards.

Lufkin (4-3, 2-1) scored 44 of its 47 points in the first half, including 27 in the second quarter.

Kendrick Mapp only had 22 yards rushing on 11 carries, but scored two touchdown runs in the game. Stubblefield's third touchdown pass went to Kyler Henson for 27 yards. Stubblefield, who is committed to Texas A&M for baseball, completed 13 of 18 pass attempts in the win.

Henson finished with five catches for 64 yards.

Lufkin's defense dominated all night, limiting Bryan's running game to just 41 yards on 24 attempts. Bryan quarterback Chris Johnson, who scored Bryan's only touchdown on a 1-yard run early in the fourth quarter, completed 13 of 27 passes for 95 yards.

Lufkin is at home next week against The Woodlands College Park.
