East Texas will have four schools vying for state championships this week in both Austin and Round Rock.

Whitehouse is the only one of the four making its first appearance at the state tournament. The Wildcats accomplished that feat by sweeping its Class 4A regional final series with Frisco Liberty.

Pleasant Grove will be making its sixth consecutive appearance at state. The Hawks won Class 3A state championships in 2010 and 2012.

Hughes Springs is at the 2A tournament for second time in school history. The Mustangs previously made the field in 2006.

Carlisle is back at the state tournament after making the 1A semifinals last season.
