UTEP Offers John Tyler Cornerback + Purdue Commit Isaac Warren

The third Division I FBS offer is in for John Tyler 2015 cornerback Isaac Warren, and it came from UTEP, the Lions' defensive standout announced via Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

Warren (6-1, 189), the Purdue commit, has picked up all three offers -- Purdue, Arizona State and UTEP -- since July 28. The physical JT defender, who was originally pledged to FCS Sam Houston, committed to the Boilermakers on July 29 -- a day after receiving the offer.

UTEP has now extended offers to two East Texans in the 2015 class, as Warren joins Canton defensive and North Texas commit Samuel Miller as area recruits with an invitations from the Miners.

Warren, who ran a laser-timed 4.56 40-yard dash at the second annual ETSN.fm + APEC Football Recruiting Combine on June 1 in Tyler, specializes in press coverage but is also more than capable of staying with receivers downfield and making plays on the ball.

His breakout event this summer was Texas' Under the Lights Camp in Austin on July 19, when Warren became the talk of the camp after a dominating performance during one-on-one drills. His first two FBS offers from Purdue and Arizona State came less than 10 days later.

Warren will be an anchor on a John Tyler defense that returns seven starters from last season's 7-4 Class 4A Division I bi-district finalist. The Lions, who will compete in the new District 16-5A this fall with Corsicana, Ennis, Jacksonville, Lindale, Lufkin, Nacogdoches and Whitehouse, opens the season Friday at home against Plano.
