UTSA The First FBS Offer For Longview DB Stephan Maxey

Stephan Maxey became the third Longview player in the 2014 class to become an FBS target when the Lobos defensive back was extended an offer by UTSA.

The story was first reported by the Longview News-Journal.

Maxey (5-11, 185), who previously received an FCS offer from Lamar, also became the 30th East Texas player in the 2014 recruiting class with at least one FBS offer.

It's the second offer UTSA has extended to an East Texas player in the 2014 class in the last two weeks. The Roadrunners offered and then received a commitment from Carthage quarterback Blake Bogenschutz on June 14.

Maxey joins classmates Zaycoven Henderson (committed to TCU) and Dorian Leonard (committed to Texas) to give the Lobos three 2014 players with at least one FBS offer.

In 2012, Maxey started at safety and finished his junior season with 72 tackles (three for loss) and four forced fumbles.
