Van 2018 offensive lineman Kris Dike continued to pick up steam with his recruitment on Thursday with his eighth Division I FBS scholarship offer.

Dike (6-6, 283) announced via Twitter that Memphis was the latest school to join the pursuit.

In addition to Memphis, the Vandals’ lineman also holds FBS offers from Colorado, Houston, North Texas, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU, and Tulane.

Including Dike, Memphis has offered five East Texans in the 2018 class. Pleasant Grove linebacker Xavier Benson, Texas High receiver and Kansas commit Tevailance Hunt, Carthage running back Keaontay Ingram, and West Rusk linebacker and Washington State pledge Tyree Wilson are the others.

Van boasted one of the region’s most powerful offenses at the Class 4A Division I level toward a regional championship game appearance and a final record of 12-2.

Dike protected the left side of dual-threat quarterback Garrett Moseley at left tackle. The signal-caller, who Dike will be working alongside again this year, recorded 39 passing touchdowns, 22 rushing scores and 4,467 total yards even before factoring in other contributors.

Memphis posted its third consecutive season of eight wins or better with an 8-5 record under first-year coach Mike Norvell. The Tigers made a Boca Raton Bowl appearance after posting a 5-3 mark in American Athletic Conference competition.

Norvell, 35 years old, joined the program after serving as the offensive coordinator and associate head coach under Todd Graham at Arizona State. Norvell gained earlier coaching experience at Tulsa and Pittsburgh.

Dike, like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December.
