One of East Texas' most productive offensive players made his college decision Tuesday as Van senior receiver Isaiah Allred committed to Missouri State.

Allred made the announcement through his personal Twitter account.

The Vandals playmaker picked Missouri State over another Division I offer from Southern Illinois.

Allred (6-3, 205) was one of the catalysts for Van's run to the Class 4A Division I state quarterfinals this season. He finished his senior year with 67 receptions for 1,241 yards and 17 touchdowns in helping the Vandals to a 12-2 record.

In his final high school game against Kennedale, Allred was matched up most of the night with one of the nation's premier defenders in five-star Ohio State commit Baron Browning. In the 34-28 loss, Allred caught seven passes for 117 yards, including a 22-yard touchdown reception that gave Van a 21-7 lead just before halftime.

Missouri State, an FCS school located in Springfield, Mo., competes in the Missouri Valley Conference. The Bears, who are coached by Dave Steckel, were 4-7 overall and 2-6 in conference play in 2016.

Allred, like all football prospects currently in their senior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him in February.
