One of the hottest recruits in East Texas right now might be Van 2018 offensive tackle Kris Dike. He added his third and fourth Division I FBS scholarship offers of the week on Thursday.

Dike (6-6, 283) reported on Twitter that both North Texas and SMU have offered him. He has also added offers from Houston and Oklahoma State since Monday.

In 2016, Dike had a banner junior season in helping lead the Vandals to a 12-2 record and berth in the Class 4A Division I state quarterfinals. He was the anchor on a line that allowed Van’s offense to average more than 42 points and 400 yards per game.

North Texas is coming off a 5-8 season under first-year coach Seth Littrell. Despite the losing record, the Mean Green reached a bowl game for the first time since 2014.

UNT fell to Army, 38-31, in the Heart of Texas Bowl in Dallas.

SMU made strides in the second year under head coach Chad Morris in 2016. The Mustangs were 5-7 last season, which included an upset win over nationally-ranked Houston during conference play.

Dike, like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
