Volleyball Playoff Roundup: Lindale Sweeps, Sabine Outlasts Tatum in Five + More

FORNEY -- The 11th-ranked Lindale Lady Eagles scored a 25-23, 25-18, 25-19 sweep of Mansfield Summit in their Class 4A Region II bi-district playoff Tuesday night.

Zhanelle Geathers led Lindale (37-3) with 13 kills and two blocks. Travicia Acy added nine kills and three blocks, Makenna Allen had five kills, 12 digs and two aces, Kaitlin Rice registered five kills and eight digs, Rhyan Rand had four kills and six digs and Sydney Tiiman dished out 27 assists to go with two kills and 10 digs.

Lindale will play either Texas High or Wylie later this week in the area round of the playoffs.

McKinney North Eliminates Pine Tree

EMORY -- The Pine Tree Lady Pirates were eliminated from the playoffs Tuesday night with a 25-21, 25-23, 17-25, 25-18 loss to McKinney North in Class 4A Region II bi-district action.

Sky Holmes led Pine Tree in defeat with 13 kills, two blocks, 10 digs and one ace. Kennedy Sampson provided six kills, 37 assists, two blocks and eight digs, Kabreshia Orange had seven kills, two blocks and five digs, Hannah Siebel added six kills, four blocks and an assist, Kerri Johnson had five kills, eight digs and three aces and Danielle Cormier finished with five kills, one block and one dig.

Pine Tree finished the first season under head coach Carolee Musick at 25-13.

No. 8 White Oak Sweeps Arp

KILGORE -- The No. 8 White Oak Ladynecks secured a 25-12, 25-13, 25-10 sweep of Arp in their Class 2A Region III bi-district playoff Tuesday night.

Taylor Tramel had nine kills and eight digs, while Madison Pecot had nine kills and three digs to lead White Oak (32-8). Rebecca Green added eight kills and four digs and the duo of Cayman Sutton and Kailee Simmons combined on 21 assists and nine digs.

White Oak will face Kountze at 7 p.m. Thursday from Central Heights High School in Nacogdoches in the area round.

Sabine Outlasts Tatum in Five

LONGVIEW -- The Sabine Lady Cardinals defeated Tatum in five games, 24-26, 25-23, 18-25, 25-17, 16-14, in their Class 2A Region III bi-district playoff Tuesday night.

Haley Stuart led Sabine (30-10) with 18 kills, two blocks, 15 digs, one assist and five aces. Tylia Sylestine added 10 kills, 21 digs and two aces, Shelby Burns had eight kills and six digs and Brittany Terry had six kills, 19 digs and three aces. Jayden Mount and Emily Ivins combined for 34 assists, 29 digs and two aces, Skyllar Richter had four kills, three assists and five digs, Kasie Bell chipped in with two kills and two assists and Logan Davis racked up 20 digs.

Sabine will face Palestine Westwood on Saturday in Bullard in the area round. A time has not yet been determined.

MONDAY

Quitman Takes Out Scurry-Rosser

WILLS POINT -- The Quitman Lady Bulldogs took a 31-33, 25-13, 25-15, 25-15 victory over Scurry-Rosser in a Class 2A Region II bi-district playoff Monday night.

Allison McKinley led Quitman with 22 kills, 15 digs and five aces. Kelsey Daniel added 15 kills, 14 digs and two aces, while Beth Noble finished with 42 assists and 12 digs.

Quitman will play Mount Vernon at 6:30 p.m. Thursday from Sulphur Springs High School in an area-round matchup.

Eustace Sweeps Edgewood

WILLS POINT -- The Eustace Bulldogs earned a 25-16, 25-19, 25-13 sweep of Edgewood in a Class 2A Region II bi-district playoff Monday.

Caitlyn Culp led Eustace with three kills, two blocks. Peyton Dibari added three kills and two aces and Taylor Peebles chipped in with two kills and 1.5 blocks,

Eustace will face the winner between Hughes Springs and Paris Chisum later this week in the area round.
