Volleyball Playoffs: White Oak Sweeps Kountze + Beckville Takes Out Dodd City

NACOGDOCHES -- The eighth-ranked White Oak Ladynecks earned a 25-12, 25-18, 25-9 sweep of Kountze in their Class 2A Region III area-round playoff Thursday night.

Taylor Tramel led White Oak (33-8) with 11 kills, 15 digs and two assists. Rebecca Green added eight kills and seven digs, Madison Pecot had six kills and five digs and Cayman Sutton had 20 assists, three kills and four digs. Kailee Simmons added nine assists and eight digs, while Mackenzie Goll finished with 15 digs.

White Oak will face either Troup or Elkhart in the regional quarterfinals either Monday or Tuesday.

Quitman Outlasts Mount Vernon in Five

SULPHUR SPRINGS -- The Quitman Bulldogs defeated Mount Vernon in five, 18-25, 27-25, 19-25, 26-24, 15-8, Thursday night in their Class 2A Region II area-round playoff.

Allison McKinley led Quitman (25-13) with 25 kills, 26 digs and three aces. Shelby Herring added nine kills, two blocks, 13 digs, and two aces, Kelsey Daniel supplied eight kills, 14 digs and two aces and Beth Noble racked up 51 assists to go with 12 digs.

Quitman will face the winner between Eustace and Paris Chisum in the regional quarterfinals Monday or Tuesday.

Beckville Defeats Dodd City, 3-1

LINDALE -- Beckville picked up a 25-20, 25-21, 20-25, 25-15 victory over Dodd City in their Class A Region III area-round playoff Tuesday.

Ivy Rieke led Beckville (29-4) with 18 kills, 19 digs, one block and four aces. Taylor Lindsay added 11 kills, 17 digs and an ace, Carson Blair finished with eight kills, 14 digs and three aces, Kassidy Alexander dished out 36 assists and 10 digs and Stacie Brevard chipped in with a team-high 21 digs.

Beckville will face either Avery or Cumby in the regional quarterfinals either Monday or Tuesday.
