CARTHAGE -- The No. 15 Carthage Lady Dawgs defeated 11th-ranked Henderson 16-25, 25-13, 26-24, 25-18 on Tuesday night.

Junior Iesha Bryant had a huge night for Carthage with 17 kills and 12 blocks. Shelby Soape added seven kills, three blocks and 17 digs and Kenzi Tate posted 37 assists.

Carthage returns to the court Sept. 18 at Brownsboro.

Kilgore 3, Bullard 0

KILGORE -- The Kilgore Lady Bulldogs began District 16-3A play with a 25-20, 28-26, 25-22 sweep of Bullard on Tuesday night.

Sarah Mendenhall led Kilgore with 29 assists, 15 digs and one ace. Tony Burks added 18 kills and 17 digs, Annie Mehringer had 10 kills and 18 digs, Nichole Flores registered 30 digs and an ace and Courtney Ganus provided 16 digs and one ace.

Kilgore plays host to Gilmer on Friday, while Bullard entertains Spring Hill.

Van 3, Hallsville 1

HALLSVILLE -- The Van Lady Vandals continued their impressive start to the season with a 25-23, 31-29, 21-25, 25-22 victory over Hallsville on Tuesday night in non-district action.

Haley McCarty led Van (23-3) with 12 kills and four blocks. Susannah Wisdom picked up 11 kills and 18 digs, Bri Thompson provided 11 kills and five blocks, Ashlin Lovett had 17 digs and Hallee Carter filled the stat sheet with six kills, four blocks and 17 digs.

Van plays host to John Tyler on Friday, while Hallsville travels to Nacogdoches,

West Rusk 3, Arp 1

ARP -- The West Rusk Lady Raiders defeated Arp 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-14 on Tuesday in District 18-2A play.

Arp, which fell to 1-1 in league play, continues its season Saturday against Winona. West Rusk, meanwhile, plays host to Sabine on Friday.

Beckville 3, Timpson 0

TIMPSON -- The Beckville Ladycats scored a 25-10, 25-20, 25-11 sweep of Timpson on Tuesday night in District 20-A action.

Shelbi Dodson led Beckville (12-8, 2-0) with eight kills and 12 digs. Ivy Rieke had seven kills and five digs, Taylor Lindsay produced five kills and 13 digs and Emma Smith assisted on 12 points.

Beckville continues its season Saturday at home against Leverett's Chapel.
