LONGVIEW -- Pine Tree remained unbeaten in District 14-4A, rolling to a home sweep of Marshall on Friday, 25-20, 25-13, 25-14.

Senior Devin Assenheimer and sophomore Kerri Johnson had 10 kills apiece, while senior Emily Shelton had 29 assists. Angel Jordan added eight digs. Kennedy Sampson and Jonquil Fisher had six digs apiece.

Pine Tree (26-5, 5-0), ranked No. 8 in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4A poll, host Sulphur Springs on Tuesday. Marshall visits Texas High.

Kilgore outlasts Bullard in five

BULLARD -- Annie Mehringer racked up 19 kills, 19 digs, and three aces, while teammate Sarah Mendenhall dished out a career-high 42 assists to go along with 10 digs and four aces as Kilgore edge District 16-3A foe Bullard on Friday, 25-19, 19-25, 25-19, 13-25, 15-12.

Kilgore (4-3 in 16-3A) got 13 kills, two blocks, and 14 digs from Tony Burks, plus 28 digs and six aces from Nichole Flores. Courtney Ganus had three kills and 17 digs, while Destini Rossum added nine kills and 11 digs. Taylor Stewart chipped in with six kills, four blocks, and 10 digs.

Kilgore visits Gilmer on Tuesday, while Bullard visits Spring Hill.

Rusk sweeps past Tyler T.K. Gorman

RUSK -- Rusk got 12 kills from Chelsie Daniels and 36 assists from Juliann Bowling in a 25-11, 25-20, 25-19 sweep of visiting Tyler T.K. Gorman on Friday.

"The girls came out tonight and had fun," said Rusk coach Stephanie Branch. "They played well as a family and had a great time winning. We got to try a few aggressive offensive options and executed well."

Rusk's Bailee Gates had 21 digs, while teammate Shayla Townsend served six aces. Bowling also had four blocks, which was matched by Emily Price.

Rusk (16-17), which is in third place in district play, visits Groesbeck on Tuesday. T.K. Gorman hosts Dallas Parish Episcopal School.

Arp sweeps West Rusk

NEW LONDON -- Arp notched a 26-24, 25-20, 25-22 win at West Rusk on Friday behind Taylor Burnett's 12 kills and Lauren Littlefield's 11 kills.

Arp's Sheyenne Atchley had 20 digs and two aces. Arp's Alicia Summer dished out 16 assists and had 16 digs, and Rebecca Daniels chipped in two kills, 15 assists, four digs, and three aces.

Tinikia Lacy had six kills, two blocks, three digs, and an ace. Kaci Kuykendall had three kills and 15 digs.

West Rusk plays at Sabine on Tuesday. Winona hosts Arp.
