Week 3 1A Poll: Alto Moves Up to No. 2 Following Win Over Defending Champ Tenaha

Joaquin remained atop the ETSN.fm Class A Top 10 by improving to 3-0, but the poll saw a shakeup following Alto's win against Tenaha.

Alto (2-1) jumped from third to second with its 25-13 win against Tenaha (1-2), which fell from No. 2 to No. 6. San Augustine's 26-14 win against Deweyville combined with Tenaha's loss to push the Wolves (1-1) from No. 4 to No. 3 in this week's top 10.

No. 4 Harleton (2-1) also moved up a spot thanks to its 7-6 win against Class 2A Alba-Golden, and Carlisle (2-0) skipped from sixth to fifth after a 50-12 drubbing of Shelbyville.

After Tenaha at No. 6, the final four remained the same, despite varying results. Big Sandy (2-1) held its No. 7 spot despite a 37-22 loss to Class 2A West Rusk, while No. 8 Mount Enterprise (2-1) experienced its first setback of 2012 in a 48-7 blowout loss to Chilton.

Cayuga (2-1), which Mount Enterprise had beaten the week before, rebounded from that loss to beat Wortham 35-7 and hung on to the No. 9 slot. Timpson continued to play solid defense in a 32-6 win against Class 2A Union Grove that makes the Bears 3-0.
