Week 4 5A/4A Poll: Longview Flexes Muscles + Whitehouse Climbs into Top 3

Longview and John Tyler held down the top two spots in the ETSN.fm Week 4 5A/4A Top 10, but a new No. 3 surfaced after Friday night's action.

Whitehouse improved to 4-0 with a 60-14 road rout of Marshall to move to No. 3 and jump past Lufkin (2-2), which fell from third to fourth following the Panthers' 45-14 home loss to rival Longview (3-1). The Lobos' third win in a row kept them at No. 1.

John Tyler (3-1) got a gutsy performance from quarterback Greg Ward to win 35-30 at Mesquite Horn and hold on to the No. 2 spot.

Hallsville (3-1) won its third consecutive game -- a 31-28 comeback victory against Lindale -- to move from sixth to fifth, while Sulphur Springs (2-2) bounced back from last week's loss to Whitehouse to beat Paris 42-19 and move from seventh to sixth.

Tyler Lee (1-3) got its first win of the season in a 23-7 decision against Texas High. Lee moved up two spots to No. 7, while the Tigers (1-2) slid from from seventh to ninth, one spot behind eighth-ranked Mount Pleasant (3-1), a 38-6 loser against Kilgore. Mount Pleasant fell three spots from last week's poll.

Jacksonville's third consecutive loss -- a 37-13 defeat against Henderson -- didn't cost the Tribe (1-3) in the regional rankings as the Indians held on to the No. 10 spot.
