Week 6 2A Poll: Hughes Springs, Jefferson Move Up + Daingerfield Drops

The top four teams remained the same in the ETSN.fm Week 6 2A Top 10, but a couple of unbeaten squads moved up a spot each.

No. 2 New Boston's 38-37 thriller of a win against Daingerfield dropped the Tigers (3-3) from fifth to seventh, which helped Hughes Springs and Jefferson each move up one spot. Hughes Springs (5-0) is No. 5 in this week's poll after a 43-0 rout of New Diana, while idle Jefferson (5-0) jumped to sixth entering the Bulldogs' District 9-2A Division I showdown at No. 3 Troup, which was also off this past week.

Newton (5-0) kept the No. 1 ranking with a 40-17 District 10-2A Division I victory against Kirbyville. Tatum (5-1) stayed at No. 4 with a 38-6 blowout of Diboll.

Behind No. 7 Daingerfield are No. 8 Mount Vernon, No. 9 Arp, and No. 10 White Oak. Mount Vernon (5-0) remained undefeated with a 14-7 District 8-2A Division I win against Pattonville Prairiland, and Arp (4-2) blew out District 10-2A Division II foe West Rusk 52-8 on Saturday night at Lobo Stadium in Longview.

White Oak (4-1) was off, but hosts Tatum this week in a big 9-2A D-I contest.
