Week 7 1A Poll: San Augustine, West Sabine, Timpson Climb into Top 5

The top two spots remained the same, but a couple of big district-opening wins propelled teams into the top five of the ETSN.fm Week 7 1A Top 10.

Joaquin (6-0, 1-0) edged Carlisle 20-16 to hold on to the No. 1 spot once again, and Alto (5-1, 1-0) crushed Cushing 61-0 to retain the No. 2 spot.

But San Augustine, Pineland West Sabine, and Timpson each jumped at least two spots. San Augustine (4-2, 1-0) bounced Grapeland 68-20 to move from fifth to third, while West Sabine (6-0, 1-0) routed Shelbyville 58-8 to jump from sixth to fourth.

Timpson (6-0, 1-0) was this week's biggest positive mover. The Bears ascended from No. 8 to No. 5 following an impressive 27-7 win against Harleton. That loss dropped Harleton (4-2, 0-1) from No. 3 to No. 7. Carlisle (5-1, 0-1) fell two spots to No. 6 after the aforementioned loss to Joaquin.

Cayuga and Tenaha each moved up one spot. Cayuga (4-2, 1-0) beat Kerens 33-30 to climb from No. 9 to No. 8, while Tenaha (3-4, 1-0) topped Burkeville 46-22 to move from No. 10 to No. 9. Mount Enterprise (4-2, 0-0) was idle, but re-entered the top 10 in the final spot.

Big Sandy fell from No. 7 to out of the poll after losing 21-18 to Beckville.
