HENDERSON -- The Lady Lions did not have much trouble notching their second win of the early 2014-2015 season.

Henderson cruised past Mineola in a 53-25 victory Saturday.

Joy Williams picked up a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds, including nine offensive boards. Ja'Keyah Stewart also recorded 12 points in the game in addition to five steals and four assists.

Nakia McElhanon had six points, six rebounds and three blocks in the contest.

Henderson's defense held all Mineola scorers to five or less points.

The Lady Lions will host Hallsville at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Mineola visit Lone Oak on Tuesday.

 

Whitehouse Tops Kilgore

WHITEHOUSE -- The Ladycats put on an offensive clinic Friday in their 65-24 win against Kilgore.

Morgan Tauscher put up a game-best 18 points for Whitehouse and supplemented the effort with six assists.

Ashton Ates, fresh off a successful volleyball season, recorded a double-double. She had 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Karlea Duhon and Madyson Wilkins rounded out double-digit scorers for the Ladycats. Duhon finished the game with 13 points and Wilkins scored 12.

Mikayla Thomas led Kilgore (0-2) with 15 points.

Whitehouse will host Pine Tree on Tuesday. Kilgore gets back in action Monday and hosts Longview.

 

Lexi Kirgan Paces Bullard To Win Versus Palestine

BULLARD -- Lexi Kirgan had a Friday to remember.

She led the Lady Panthers to a 2-0 start with 29 points in a 58-30 win against Palestine.

Hannah Lloyd recorded 10 points and DeAnna Howard scored eight points to round out the top three scorers for Bulllard.

The Lady Panthers next game will be against Van on Nov. 24. Palestine visits Jacksonville on Tuesday.
