VAN -- The Tyler All Saints Lady Trojans finished third in the Van Tournament, going 2-1 Saturday on the final day of the event.

All Saints def. Chapel Hill, 25-21, 26-24, fell to Sunnyvale, 25-23, 25-22, before closing with a 25-19, 23-25, 25-15 defeat of Crandall.

Ferrell Clyde paced All Saints' attack, finishing the day with 32 kills and 8.5 blocks. Frances Hackney racked up 64 assists and four aces, while Hanna Waits added nine kills and three aces, and Maddie Varga had 23 digs.

 

Beckville Captures Consolation Title in Longview

LONGVIEW -- The Beckville Ladycats took home the gold bracket consolation title at the Longview Tournament with a 2-1 performance on Saturday.

Beckville fell to Longview to begin the day, but bounced back with wins over Henderson (28-26, 25-22) and Pleasant Grove (25-21, 25-12).

Carson Blair led the way on the day with 13 kills and 26 digs, Carley Lawhorn had 10 kills, Kinley Blair contributed nine kills, two blocks, and three digs, Cassie Elizondo registered seven kills and block, while Kassidy Alexander finished with 54 assists and three aces.

Beckville (5-2) continues its season Tuesday with a dual match in Henderson against Henderson and Elysian Fields.

 

Hughes Springs Takes Second At Paris Chisum Tourney

PARIS -- The Hughes Springs Lady Mustangs finished second in the silver bracket of the Paris Chisum Tournament with a 2-1 effort on Saturday.

Hughes Springs took wins over Pittsburg (25-15, 25-11) and Redwater (25-23, 25-12), before losing to Pattonville Prairiland, 25-20, 26-24.

Zoe Lanier paced Hughes Springs with 15 kills, Peyton Blythe added 37 assists, while Kennedi Northam added 23 digs.

The Lady Mustangs play at Maud on Tuesday.

 

Carlisle Finishes Third At Gary Tournament

GARY -- The Carlisle Lady Indians took third at the Gary Tournament, winning two of its three matches on Saturday.

Carlisle began with a 25-16, 21-25, 25-18 win over San Augustine, which was followed by a 25-14, 25-19 loss to Kilgore in the semifinals. Carlisle then took down Gary in the third-place game, 12-25, 25-20, 25-18.

Julie Smith aided Carlisle's attack with 24 kills, seven aces, and 18 digs. Madison Martin added 10 kills, Macey Minnix had 10 kills and a block, Ceci DeLeon put up seven kills with 15 assists, while Keylee Adair totaled 46 digs.

Carlisle's season continues Tuesday at Bullard Brook Hill.

 

Emory Rains Finishes Fourth In Garland

GARLAND -- The Emory Rains dropped three of its four matches Saturday, but it was good enough for fourth place in the silver bracket of the Garland ISD Tournament.

Rains suffered losses to Richardson (26-24, 25-20), Rowlett (25-18, 28-26), and Garland Lakeview Centennial (23-25, 25-17, 23-25), but picked up a win against Richardson Berkner, 25-8, 25-23.

Ashley Gowin finished her day with 28 kills and 26 digs, Charlotte Bradshaw had seven kills, four blocks, and 17 digs, Corley Cole racked up eight kills and eight blocks, while Shelbi Sheppard registered 48 assists and 12 digs.
