The two East Texas teams that started the basketball season ranked No. 1 in their respective classifications are still there in the latest Texas Association of Basketball Coaches polls.

White Oak remains No. 1 in the TABC Class 2A boys poll following a short-handed 51-36 win at Pine Tree this past week. White Oak will get six of its regular players back this week after the Roughnecks' football team fell 47-32 to Grandview in a Class 2A Division I Region III area playoff.

White Oak plays at Class 3A No. 21 Spring Hill (4-0) at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in a rivalry showdown of ranked teams. The Roughnecks could potentially meet Class 2A No. 2 Clarksville in the semifinals of the DQ Van Invitational on Saturday.

Martin's Mill has started the season 5-0 to keep the No. 1 spot in the TABC's Class A Division I girls poll. The Lady Mustangs, who have reached the last three 1A D-I state championship games, visit Mabank on Tuesday night.
