WHITE OAK -- The Roughnecks overcame a 12-point deficit early in the third quarter against Daingerfield and remained unbeaten Friday with a 43-36 win.

White Oak quarterback Heath Hood accounted for five of his team's touchdowns in the game, three through the air and two on the ground.

Markevion Grant gave Daingerfield a short-lived lead with two touchdown runs of 60-plus yards early in the third quarter. His first score in the span broke a 21-19 halftime deficit and then he gave the Tigers (1-3) their 12-point, 33-21 edge.

Hood put White Oak (4-0) back in the driver's seat before the quarter ended. He ran in from one yard and connected with Elijah Trest a few minutes later.

Daingerfield kicked a field goal to tie the game, 36-36, but Hood found Kason Kienzle for a 45-yard score with less than seven minutes to play and the supporting Roughnecks defense held Daingerfield off the board in its final possession of the game.

White Oak will travel to Harmony next week and Daingerfield hosts Paul Pewitt for its first District 7-3A Division II contest.
