Every score and stop counted in White Oak's 43-36 win Friday against Daingerfield.

It's a good thing the Roughnecks had Brandon Cook on their side. Not only did the safety record a region-best 17 tackles this past weekend, he returned an interception 62 yards for a second-quarter touchdown in what ultimately was a one-possession victory.

Cook is the ETSN.fm + Dairy Queen Defensive Player of the Week. He is the third Class 3A player in four weeks to earn the recognition.

White Oak (4-0) has a big challenge coming up this Friday. It will visit Harmony (4-0) for both teams' final non-district game.

The Roughnecks own the better head-to-head strength of schedule with key wins against Tyler Bishop Gorman, Spring Hill and Daingerfield. Harmony, on the other hand, has made the most of its schedule by putting up 60 points in three of four games.

Cook will need to come up big again this week. Harmony has outscored opponents 222-71.
