White Oak’s Dylan Gale + Tatum’s Kyshaun Smith Share District 9-2A D-I MVP

White Oak quarterback Dylan Gale and Tatum linebacker Kyshaun Smith shared Most Valuable Player honors on the 9-2A Division I all-district football team, which was voted on by the league’s coaches.

Gale, who led White Oak to the state semifinals earlier this month, passed for more than 3,700 yards with 36 touchdowns on only five interceptions. Smith, meanwhile, racked up 123 tackles (21 for loss) with seven quarterback pressures, two interceptions and five pass break-ups.

Other superlatives went to White Oak receiver Jansen McCurdy (Offensive MVP), Tatum linebacker Demetrius Hill and Harmony linebacker Levi Thompson (Co-Defensive MVPs), White Oak’s Jason Heim and Tatum’s Jaylon Ward (Top Offensive Linemen), Tatum’s Collin Gage and Troup’s Tristen Walsworth (Top Defensive Linemen), Harmony’s Micah Ross (Top Offensive Newcomer) and Sabine’s Bo Bates, Tatum’s Jordan Nelson and Jefferson’s Landon Simmons (Top Defensive Newcomers).
