One of East Texas' top tight end prospects now knows his college destination.

White Oak senior Hayden Nichols committed to Tyler Junior College on Thursday evening. Nichols received an offer from TJC on Jan. 16.

The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Nichols caught 26 passes for 411 yards and five touchdowns in 2013, when the Roughnecks went 13-2 and reached the Class 2A Division I state semifinals, their first final four run since 1970.

TJC is a D-I JUCO program that competes in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference. The Apaches had a stellar 2013 campaign, compiling a 9-2 record that included a 47-21 victory vs. Garden City (Kan.) Community College in the Football Capital Of Kansas Bowl.
