White Oak junior receiver Jansen McCurdy had a huge performance in the Roughnecks' 38-28 win vs. Troup last week, and today he received a statewide honor for his efforts.

McCurdy was named Built Ford Tough Player of the Week for Class 2A after catching seven passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns. Those four scoring grabs covered 72, 60, 44, and 42 yards.

McCurdy and junior quarterback Dylan Gale both had big nights. Gale completed 15 of 27 passes for 395 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions in the 10-point win against Troup, which suffered its first loss.

McCurdy enters Friday's home game vs. Sabine with 33 catches for 887 yards and 13 touchdowns, all of which lead the Roughnecks (6-2, 2-1). Gale has thrown for 1,594 yards, 17 TDs, and seven interceptions.
