TYLER -- Whitehouse won two more games Monday evening in 7-on-7 football action at TMF Rose Stadium in Tyler to maintain a perfect summer record.

Whitehouse beat Tyler Lee 34-21 before recording a 26-15 victory against District 16-4A foe John Tyler to conclude weekly Monday night league play in June.

The Wildcats qualified for the Division I 7-on-7 state tournament at Lufkin's June 8 state qualifier tournament, where the Panthers also qualified for state. Whitehouse went 4-0 at that SQT before going 3-0 in pool play at the Tyler SQT on June 15 at Lindsey Park. Since the 'Cats had already qualified for state, they did not compete beyond pool play.

In other Monday night action at Rose, John Tyler beat 16-4A opponent Lindale 7-0. The Lions will join Jacksonville in Saturday's D-I SQT in Midlothian, which will also host a qualifiers pool that will include Tyler Lee. The Red Raiders qualified for state at the June 15 SQT at Lindsey Park.
