Whitehouse’s Justin Dunning Receives Offer From Arizona State

Whitehouse S Justin Dunning. (Christopher R. Vinn, ETSN.fm)

Whitehouse’s Justin Dunning received his first Pac-12 offer when Arizona State made the 2015 safety a target, Dunning announced via Twitter on Tuesday night.

Dunning (6-4, 200), who committed to Texas A&M on Nov. 10, now has 10 FBS offers. The Sun Devils join A&M, Baylor, Florida State, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech and Vanderbilt.

He is just the third East Texan with an offer from the Pac-12. Gladewater 2015 defensive tackle Daylon Mack has offers from Oregon, Stanford and USC, while Gilmer 2015 running back/cornerback Kris Boyd has been offered by Cal.

Dunning’s 2013 season was cut short with a knee injury in Whitehouse’s second game of the season, but he had an outstanding performance at the inaugural ETSN combine at APEC training facility in Tyler last May. He ran the third-fastest laser-timed 40-yard dash (4.41) of the combine’s 100 participants and also had one of the top three broad jumps (10-4) and the event’s best vertical jump at 40.4 inches, earning Defensive Back MVP honors.

As a sophomore, Dunning burst on the scene with 61 tackles and a team-leading five interceptions in 2012.
