LONGVIEW -- Van running back Aphonso Thomas reached six touchdowns in two games after scoring three more Friday night in the Vandals' 55-21 win over Spring Hill.

The Nebraska commit totaled 121 yards on the ground, accounting for about a fifth of Van's nearly 600 yards of total offense. Thomas scored on runs of 15, 17 and 2 yards for Van (2-0). Two of his touchdowns followed Spring Hill fumbles.

Riley Krumvieda also scored three touchdowns for the Vandals, who have scored 100 points in two wins this season.

Garrett Self completed 10 of 18 passes for 211 yards and a touchdown, an 84-yard score to receiver Scott Deal to tie the game at 7-7 in the first quarter. Deal finished with four catches for 139 yards.

Jax Tobias caught eight passes for 127 yards for Van.

Van looked to have a 35-7 lead going into the half, but a 38-yard touchdown run by Zach Tulpa helped the Panthers cut into the Vandals' lead, making it 35-14 at the break.
