Beckville Defeats Lindsay in Five Sets to Win State Title

GARLAND -- Lindsay took the Ladycats to the wire, but Beckville ultimately outlasted the Lady Knights 16-14 in the final set to claim the 2A state championship.

The Ladycats finish their season 42-8 after the 3-2 (25-23, 19-25, 25-18, 18-25, 16-14) victory.

Payton Jones won Tournament MVP after finishing with 13 kills and 12 digs. Jordan Tondreau led the Ladycats with 16 kills while Miranda Mize added 10. Kinley Pepper finished with 45 assists and 14 digs in the victory.

The state championship was the first in Beckville's history. The Ladycats will lose Jones, Tondreau, Pepper and Nail to graduation next season, but Mize returns along with several underclassmen.
