WYLIE -- Deundre Wheeler set a school record with 340 rushing yards and five touchdowns in Winona's 51-12 rout of Leonard in their Class 3A Division II, Region II area-round playoff Friday night.

Winona (7-5), which won its first playoff game since 1987 last week, advanced to the regional semifinals. The Wildcats will face Whitewright (8-4) at 7:30 p.m. Friday from Forney's City Bank Stadium.

Wheeler carried the ball 30 times and represented the bulk of Winona's 428 rushing yards. Quinn Johnson added 48 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.

Quarterback Braxton Kincade completed 3 of 6 attempts for 28 yards, including a touchdown pass to Keylon Kincade Jr.
