SAN ANTONIO -- The Slocum Lady Mustangs dropped a 73-44 decision to Dodd City on Thursday morning in a girls Class A state semifinal from the Alamodome.

Slocum (27-10) shot just 28.5 percent from the field and was only 3-of-16 from 3-point range while committing 37 turnovers.

The Lady Mustangs didn't have an answer for Dodd City (36-1) guard Paige Granstaff, who finished with 33 points.

Journie Hilliard added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Abby Weeks chipped in with 12 points, four boards, and three assists for Dodd City.

Slocum was led by Jessi Ives, who finished with 23 points.

Dodd City led Slocum just 25-21 at halftime, but put forth a dominant display in the game's final 16 minutes.

Slocum was outscored 48-23 in the second half, while Dodd City shot 55.6 percent over the final two quarters.

Dodd City will face Nazareth at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for the 1A championship.
