Emory Rains Volleyball Wins Three At Forney I.S.D. Tournament

FORNEY -- Emory Rains started its time at the Forney I.S.D. Tournament with a bang.

The Lady Wildcats defeated Irving MacArthur and Carrollton Newman Smith in pool play Thursday and went on to defeat Bullard in the first round of the bracket segment.

Charlotte Bradshaw recorded a team-best 11 kills against MacArthur in a 25-18, 25-21 match win. Shelbi Sheppard added 12 assists.

In Emory Rains' 25-18, 25-22 pool win against Newman Smith, Sheppard served up nine assists and Ashley Gowin led the way with nine kills.

The Lady Wildcats cruised by Bullard, 25-13, 25-13 in the bracket. Gowin recorded 12 kills and Sheppard helped with 12 assists.
