KILGORE -- Bullard took the lead in the top of the first and never looked back in an 8-3 win at Kilgore.

Peyton Miller batted 3-for-3 in the Panthers' victory with base hits in the first, third and seventh innings. Starting pitcher Ty Miller earned the win, striking out seven Bulldogs batters while allowing just seven total base runners in the complete game win.

Bullard captured the lead with an RBI double from Zach Eschberger and Nic Costas added a second run with a base hit.

Kilgore made it a 4-1 game in the third inning with an RBI double from Mason Shelton, but Bullard added two runs in both the fifth and sixth innings.

The Panthers (14-5, 8-1) visit Gladewater on Tuesday. Kilgore (7-15, 2-7) will try to maintain a hold on the district's fourth-place playoff seed Tuesday at Gilmer.

 

Softball

Katelyn Boles Tosses Another Gem

POLLOK -- Katelyn Boles recorded her 300th strikeout of the season and yet another no-hitter in a 12-0 home win against Hemphill.

Boles struck out 11 batters in the game and did not allow a walk, meaning a perfect game was blown by a fielding error.

The ace will enter with playoffs with 310 strikeouts on the season.

Brittany Caswell picked up five RBIs in the win. She hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning and tripled in the fifth frame.

Pollok Central finished the regular season with a 25-7 record and won District 22-3A.
