JEFFERSON -- Beckville remained undefeated against District 16-3A competition with a 25-6, 25-8, 25-17 sweep of Jefferson.

The Ladycats aced 18 serves in the win and scored 52 of the 75 points they needed to win without help from Jefferson.

Kinley Blair led the way Friday with seven aces, seven kills and two blocks. She also saved seven points on defense.

Kinley Pepper recorded 29 assists.

Beckville will travel to Union Grove on Tuesday. Jefferson also will be on the road at Elysian Fields.

 

Carlisle Edges Gary

PRICE -- Kristina Bell and Leann Youngblood had big nights for Carlisle in a narrow sweep of Gary, 27-25, 26-24, 25-17.

Hayley Jordan put up a team-best 14 kills in defeat for Gary. Cheyenne Vannier recorded 28 assists.

Carisle will travel to Timpson on Tuesday. Gary simultaneously hosts Leverett's Chapel.

 

Emory Rains Takes Lead In 13-4A

VAN -- Emory Rains gained possession of first place in District 13-4A, finished the first half of its league schedule undefeated and won a 14th straight match with a 25-19, 25-11, 25-23 sweep at Van.

Charlotte Bradshaw and Taylor Pruitt hit double digits.

Bradshaw scored 19 total points on 15kills and four aced serves. Pruitt recorded 10 kills.

Shelbi Sheppard served up 32 assists.

Rains will travel to Brownsboro on Tuesday. Van hosts Canton for its next match.

 

Quitman Topples Edgewood

QUITMAN -- Kaci Raley and Molly Tanner lifted Quitman to a 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 sweep of Edgewood.

Raley recorded 11 kills, three blocks and two aces in the three-set match. Tanner had 13 total points on 11 kills, one ace and a block.

Quitman will travel to Alba-Golden on Tuesday. Edgewood next faces Scurry-Rosser.
