Immigrant Climbs Texas Tree to Evade ICE for Six Hours
(San Antonio, Texas) As we all know President Trump is working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to deport people in the United States illegally, that includes here in Texas.
That was a major emphasis when he was campaigning, but it has left a lot of people feeling vulnerable to deportation.
According to NBCDFW, there was one undocumented 29-year-old immigrant who was stopped for a traffic infraction and ended up hiding for hours attempting to avoid arrest by ICE.

It Started with a Traffic Stop
It’s amazing how many law enforcement interactions begin as a traffic stop.
This took place near South Navidad and Hazel Street in San Antonio, Texas.
You would think that people would make sure to do everything possible to not get pulled over, especially if they are trying to hide from police officers.
In this instance, the immigrant was pulled over, but instead of staying in his vehicle and complying with officers orders, the man decided to flee.
The suspect ran from the vehicle on foot and made his way into the backyard of someone’s residence.

Nearly 7 Hours Hiding in a Tree
Law enforcement officers saw the man hiding in a tree from just after noon until nearly 7:00 p.m. when he eventually came down and surrendered to police.
The man was identified as Raul Ical.
He Had Been Deported from the U.S. in the Past
After investigating the suspect, he was found to have been deported from the United States in April of 2013 after being in the country for only about a month illegally at that point.
