(KNUE-FM) It’s horrible to hear about such horrible things happening here in our home state of Texas, but even worse that this stuff is happening in our community. How the Online Sting Was Set Up
Just as you’ve seen on multiple television shows about busting predators, the suspect in this case believed he was communicating with a minor online but was actually talking with an undercover officer.
This was set up by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office. While they haven’t released a lot of details about this specific investigation, I know that taking the time to work on a project like this is much appreciated by everyone in the area. Crimes like this won’t be tolerated in East Texas.

Where the Arrest Happened
Throughout the online conversation the suspect was instructed to go to a predetermined location in Gilmer, that is where law enforcement made their presence known and took Palmer into custody. He has since been charged with online solicitation of a minor and his bond has been set at $75,000.
While we appreciate law enforcement taking action on this type of crime, please remember that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
