Inside Nacogdoches County Jail: Felony Report Dec 21 – 27

There are 312 inmates in the Nacogdoches County Jail. Citizens arrested in the town of Nacogdoches and smaller surrounding towns in the county are incarcerated at this jail.

18 of the inmates are being held for class A and B misdemeanors. In this report, we are focusing on the 221 pretrial felons, 195 of them are male and 26 are female.

Also featured are 33 pretrial state jail felons. There are 40 in the "all other" category.

Nacogdoches Felons Of Note Showing Up In Previous Arrests

Ricardo Eloy Cavazos-Guzman, 26, was arrested for a terroristic threat against a Peace Officer or Judge in Nacogdoches.

In 2017 he was arrested by the Angelina County Sheriff's Office for a motion to revoke probation for an assault causing bodily injury/family violence. According to the Lufkin Daily News, he was already on probation and only 18 at the time.

Nacogdoches County Man Arrested For Cattle Theft

Jovante Duran Fields, 30, was arrested in Nacogdoches County for theft of property and obstruction or retaliation. It doesn't mention what he stole.

According to KLTV he was arrested on September 11, 2015 and charged with theft of livestock. He worked with three other suspects to steal four cows from Pct. 3 Justice of the Peace Jackie Risinger of Mt. Enterprise, Texas.

He was the last of the four to be arrested in the 2014 theft. He along with the other suspects cut the gate chain and took four grown cows that were immediately missed.

The four stolen cows were located at the Athens Livestock sale barn. The four suspects had split the $7,647.20 payday.
