Officer Andrew Fitzer is now in the hospital, recovering from a bad head injury after trying to stop the trouble. It all started when two women, Jamaysha Butler, 28, and Melissa Bell, 22, got involved in a big scene at the bar.

When officers tried to arrest Butler, she took off in a convertible. Officer Fitzer ran after the car and attempted to jump in the back seat, which led to him falling and hitting his head badly.

The injury was so serious that he ended up with a brain bleed. Now, Butler is facing serious charges, including driving drunk, hurting someone while intoxicated, and running from police.

Bell didn’t make things any easier. Police say she got in the way during Butler’s arrest and even attacked another officer. She’s been charged with resisting arrest and public intoxication.

Officer Fitzer is still in the hospital but is in stable condition, which means he’s not getting worse, but he has a tough road to recovery ahead.
