This lightning storm lit up the skies southeast of Dallas, Texas on Tuesday night. The storm rolled through the area along Interstate 45.

Meteorologists noted that the conditions were ripe for severe electrical activity, with unstable air and high humidity fueling the storm’s intensity.

One time when we were kids, a lightning bolt hit a tree in my backyard. I told all of my friends that lightning never strikes twice in the same spot as I walked over toward the tree. All of my friends were yelling at me to get back under the carport. When I got about ten feet from the tree, BAM, lightning struck it again. Turns out the old saying is not true at all.
