A Texan’s First Bite of Fish and Chips in Portsmouth
I had the pleasure of visiting Portsmouth, England, back in 1992 while stationed aboard the USS Harry E. Yarnell. One thing I made a point to do while I was there was to try some fish and chips. I was not disappointed.
As someone who almost always tried the local cuisine in the countries I visited, the thing that sticks out the most to me as I reflect on my time there is that out of all the European countries I visited, fish and chips was my favorite meal.
