If you’re like me and suffer from Coulrophobia (the fear of clowns), you’re going to be creeped out by this video of a clown riding in a semi on a Dallas highway.

It’s always baffled me that clowns are associated with little kids and having a fun time. They’ve always looked freaky to me with their makeup, tiny hats, and big floppy shoes. Ronald McDonald is the only exception in that I relate him to Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, and those delicious McDonald’s fries. The rest of them remind me of Pennywise from It.

So, I can’t help but wonder how many kids are trapped in that trailer. Is it a rolling version of the sewer in Derry, Maine? I can see that clown in the passenger seat luring unsuspecting children into the trailer with the promise of candy and balloon animals.

I’m kidding, of course. It’s actually a pretty cool marketing stunt for the upcoming slasher flick Clown in a Cornfield. My guess is that there are several of them rolling around the country ahead of the release next Friday, May 9.

It all makes sense when you see that the producers of Smile are behind the movie. Their viral marketing campaign for the movie was pure genius. But I think they may have one-upped themselves with the campaign for Clown in a Cornfield.

As a big fan of slasher movies, you can bet that I’ll be in the seats for Clown in a Cornfield when it comes out. You can also bet my fear of clowns will be even more intense by the time the credits roll.
