Dallas Cowboys Monday Night Football Back to Back Games
The Dallas Cowboys will be in prime time Monday night action the next two games (with a bye in the middle). Let's see how The Boys do on Monday nights.
The first Monday Night Football game happened during the 1970 season. Since then the Dallas Cowboys have played in 91 games. Which is the most for any single team in the NFL. They have a 51-40 record all time on Monday Night Football. Here are some interesting stats.
Dallas Cowboys Only Missed a Monday Night Game in Three Seasons
You always hear about the mystique of America's team, but some years the Cowboys were not in the prime time Monday night spot. The historically bad 1989 and 1990 Dallas Cowboys were never on Monday Night and the 2002 Dallas Cowboys coached by Dave Campo (seen above) never played on Monday Night.
Tony Dorsett's NFL Record Run Happened on a Monday Night Game
A record that can never be broken and only tied was set in 1983 by Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Dorsett. Now technically it was the 1982 season, but the record was officially set on January 3, 1983 against the Minnesota Vikings when Tony ran 99 yards for a touchdown. You can watch the play below if you have never seen it before.
Fun Fact, First Dallas Cowboys Monday Night Game was Against the Cardinals
Tonight the Cowboys are taking on the Arizona Cardinals. That was the first team the Cowboys ever played on a Monday. Things were A LOT different then. The Cowboys were still playing at The Cotton Bowl and the Cardinals were still in St Louis. The Cowboys would get destroyed in that game 38-0. Hopefully, tonight's game has a better outcome for the silver and blue.
