This Texas City Has Some of the Most Expensive Pizza in the U.S.
I was shocked to learn that a Texas city has some of the most expensive pizza in the country. I guarantee you that you’ll never be able to guess which city it is.
Pizza is one of those foods that is pretty much universally loved. I’m sure there’s someone out there who doesn’t like it, but I’ve never met them.
About the only thing folks can’t seem to agree on is which toppings are the best. I’m more an old school pizza lover in that you can give me pepperoni, sausage, or both and I’m good to go.

In fact, I’m cool with just about any meat choice except for anchovies. As far as veggies, mushrooms and jalapeños are all I’m interested in. And pineapple has no business on a pizza.
Speaking of business, when it comes to the average price of pizza relative to the average income of its citizens, McAllen has the most expensive pizza in Texas. The Rio Grande Valley city is actually the 8 most expensive pizza city in the United States, according to Cheapism.
Average Large Cheese: $14.97
Average Large Pepperoni: $17.00
Admittedly, I would gladly pay those prices for quality pizza. But still, if you happen to visit McAllen and are in the mood for pizza, be prepared for a little sticker shock when you get the bill. Hopefully, it will at least be worth it.
