Texas is Apparently a ‘Hotspot’ for Alien Abductions
Here's some no-so-great news for Texans - the chances of you being abducted by aliens are higher than people in most other states. Not that your chances of being swept away by aliens are all that high, but still - it figured you need to be aware.
You see, the New York Post shared a story that was originally put out there by the online gambling site casino.ca (which I can’t link to because the folks I work for aren’t big on us accessing gambling sites here at work). In honor of National Alien Abduction Day (March 20), the story revealed the 10 states in which folks are most at risk of being abducted by aliens.

First the good news – the Lone Star State wasn’t the state with the highest likelihood of being scooped up and carried away by aliens for a good old-fashioned probing. That would be the state of California, with 1 UFO sighting per 1,075 people.
The bad news is that Texas is ranked 6th on the list, with 1 UFO sighting per 1,370 people. Admittedly, that does seem like a high probability. To put it in perspective, the chances of being struck by lightning in Texas is 1 in 15,300, according to my man Daniel Paulus at KLAQ. Let that sink in.
The last thing I expected to learn today is that I’m more likely to be abducted by an alien than struck by lightning in Texas.
