Help Pets and Adopt for Free at Tyler Animal Services
(Tyler, Texas) Adopting a shelter dog or cat in Tyler is as easy as making a donation of a case of canned dog or cat food through the end of July 2026. Tyler Animal Services is making pet ownership affordable and easy. The shelter will waive the traditional adoption fee with your donation this month.
Why Pet Food Donations Matter
Your donation will be used to help those pet owners who could be facing a hard decision: keeping their beloved pet or surrendering them to Tyler Animal Services. For families facing short-term financial issues, pet food is usually cut from the shopping list first. Those needing food for their dog or cat have been turning to the Pet Food Bank since 2015 for assistance with their pet's food. It's saved countless animals from having to be surrendered to the care of the shelter.

Helping East Texas Families Keep Their Pets
Throughout July, all donated canned dog and cat food will benefit the Pet Food Bank and East Texas families with pets. More than 36,000 pounds of food have been distributed, helping keep dogs and cats in their loving homes. All donated food will go to the Pet Food Bank and not be used for the animals at the shelter.
If you've been thinking about adopting a pet for your family, you should consider a shelter dog. Shelter dogs make excellent pets, in my opinion. My dog is a shelter dog and is absolutely the best. That may be a biased statement on my part!
